In 2010: Because of the very good price and the nature conservation value of the area we bought the Kerek-fenék sodic lake and its immediate catchment area (20,3283 Ha) even though it has not been planned in the project proposal. This little wetland patch is part of the project area and very important Annex I. bird species breeding and migrate through there like Spoonbill, Ferruginous Duck, Black-winged Stilt, Avocet etc. and also this habitat belongs to the Pannonic salt steppes and salt marshes (code:1530) category which is in the high priority EU category for nature conservation.

We also started the negotiation on the purchase of 1 ha forest plot (number of plot: 06/60 hrsz) in the project area (also Natura 2000 site).

In 2011: We managed to purchase another one hectare forest plot (number of plot: 06/60 hrsz) in the project area (also Natura 2000 site) this year. In the project plans a total of 35,9642 ha land purchase was foreseen. Until 1st of November 2011 a total of 30,9244 ha land has been successfully purchased (see map 1. és 2.) though not all the foreseen plots (see the 2010 results above). We believe we will be able to achieve the final target by the end of the project.
As the conservation clause is not possible to include in the land register in Hungary a commitment was signed by our associated beneficiary Tiszatáj Public Foundation in front of a notary that all purchased land plots will be used in long term nature conservation. Also an obligation to transfer the land to a legal body active in the field of conservation (supported by the relevant Hungarian law) in case the Tiszatáj Public Foundation ceases to exist.

In 2012: In 2012 there was no land purchase in the frame of this action. For the maps which show the border of the project area, the natura 2000 site of the already purchased lands are visible on map 3. and map 4.

2013: Coludn’t buy further lands at the project area.
