Mangalica wooly pigs are very important in maintaining the wetland habitat within the project area. They are very efficient in driving back Bolboschoenetum and Typhetum and the creation of bare patches with its rooting, grazing and wallowing. There were no pigs in 2002 at all but in 2003 around 400 individuals, in 2004 around 320 individuals, in 2005 around 155 individuals and in 2006 we managed to reach the planned 600 individuals at the project area.

Hungarian Flecked Cattle and Great-horned Grey Cattles are also very important to be able to reach the ecologically high level of grazing in the project area. It is a kind of livestock grazing the largest quantities and treading bare patches. There were altogether 20 individuals in 2002, 480 individuals in 2003, 560 individuals in 2004, 584 individuals in 2005, and 627 individuals in 2006 in the project area.

Traditional Racka sheep are equally important to maintain the ecologically high level of grazing in the project area. Suitable especially for "smoothing", grazing the grass in dry parts and on the shore even shorter. There were altogether 50 individuals in 2002, 150 individuals in 2003, 326 individuals in 2004, 378 individuals in 2005, and 440 individuals in 2006 in the project area.

The horses are very good because they like to graze in flooded meadow and on the edge of the grazing-lake. There were none in 2002, 6 individuals in 2003, 27 individuals in 2004, 8 individuals in 2005, and 22 individuals in 2006 in the project area. Unlike other domestic animals the donkeys prefer scrub and pioneer associations. There was one in 2002, 16 individuals in 2003, 21 individuals in 2004, 26 individuals in 2005, and 30 individuals in 2006 in the project area. Similar to donkey prefers scrub and pioneer associations. There were none in 2002, 40 individuals in 2003, 47 individuals in 2004, 40 individuals in 2005, and 33 individuals in 2006 in the project area.
